The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is introducing a new version of its popular Idaho 511 app, offering drivers improved tools to help plan their trips. The new app is available for download to mobile devices beginning Sunday and the transition to the new version will take place at noon on Monday.
The new Idaho 511 app offers a range of features to help travelers plan their trips, including special event notifications, seven-day weather forecasts, highway oasis locations, and more. Additionally, users can create accounts, save custom routes and sign up for notifications when certain routes are affected.
The web address, 511.idaho.gov, and phone number, 511, will remain the same. The old Idaho 511 app and Idaho 511 Trucking app will no longer be supported after Monday. However, the new app includes trucking information settings that users can enable or disable depending on their needs.
511 is the ITD's public service to provide travelers with information about road conditions, traffic incidents, weather and tourism information via telephone, web, or smartphone app, 24 hours a day and seven days a week
